I assisted the Web Architect in the initial planning and UX design for the complete overhaul of the TDSB’s website. Our strategy was to target parents as our primary user group and to build the navigation along the metaphor of the timeline of a student going through the system. It begins with Early Years, progressing through Elementary and Secondary School, leading to Adult Learning, then finally at Community. Since time, growth and cycles are so important to the school system, the background of the website are trees that change with the seasons.
The art direction for the website involved using energetic positive original photographs of our students and a very strict adherence to our brand standards including use of fonts and colours.
